The?Photonics?Lab?Specialist?will?be?responsible?for?designing?and?improving?laboratory?training?and?demonstration?programs?in?Thorlabs?Training?Center?located?in?Shanghai.??He/she?will?design?experiments?dedicated?to?conduct?photonics?lab?knowledge?and?skills?to?our?customers?as?a?value-added?service.?He/she?will?also?help?develop?the?oral?presentation?skills?of?the?Application?Engineers?group.?The?successful?candidate?will?need?to?demonstrate?a?broad?understanding?of?photonics,?practical?lab?experience?in?designing?and?building?a?wide?variety?of?experimental?setups,?and?the?ability?to?create?laboratory?scenarios?that?will?foster?our?customers?and?engineers?to?learn?new?skills.
Key?Responsibilities?
1. Design?and?Provide?Laboratory?Training?to?Thorlabs?Customers
1） Design?lab?programs?that?provide?customers?with?practical?knowledge?of?products?and?applications.?The?programs?will?need?to?cover?basics?like?coupling?light?into?a?single?mode?fiber?to?more?application?oriented?experiences?like?designing?and?building?a?Raman?spectroscopy?setup
2） Deliver?lectures?on?advanced?topics?including?both?laboratory?and?theoretical?knowledge,?as?well?as?state-of-the-art?applications
3） Provide?support?to?more?experienced?engineers?as?they?design?their?own?experiments
4） Teach?how?to?keep?a?lab?notebook?and?how?to?present?the?results
2. Support?the?integration?of?our?products?into?customer?applications
3. Involve?in?Product?Development?and?Testing
1） Work?with?engineers?to?determine?evaluation?and?testing?procedure
2） Actively?participate?in?product?design?discussions
4. Heavily?involved?in?the?design,?construction,?and?support?of?tradeshow?demonstrations
Requirements
? Ph.D.?in?Physics?or?Engineering
? 2+?year’s?laboratory?experience?in?research?or?product?development?after?Ph.D.
? Teaching?experience?and?excellent?communication?skills
? Broad?base?of?photonics?knowledge?with?expertise?in?multiple?applications?and?measurement/analysis?techniques?(e.g.,?Optical?Coherence?tomography,?Fourier?Transformation,?Spectroscopy,?Laser?Characterization,?Fiber?Optics,?Polarization?Optics,?Adaptive?Optics)
? Strong?motivation?on?constantly?learning?new?technologies,?new?applications?and?new?developed?products
? Ability?to?work?independently?as?well?as?part?of?a?team
? Fluent?in?Mandarin?and?English
